What is Ziggy Pop?
After taking friends’ portraits and headshots informally for years, we decided to open Ziggy Pop in 2023. The name comes from our favorite musical portraits - like the ones of Debbie Harry by Mick Rock or, obviously, David Bowie by Brian Duffy.
So seemingly simple, yet so impactful.
We are inspired by authentic, timeless, personality-forward portraits.
We adore photographing real people working in many disciplines from artists to business professionals.
During your session, our top priority is that you feel comfortable and confident. When you are in our studio, you are our guest and collaborator; no gimmicks, stock poses, turn and burn processes, and no plasticine over-re-touching. We take the time to talk about your goals for your photo. We make a stellar music playlist. Most of all, we want people to see you, know you, and feel whatever makes YOU as indelible as a thumbprint, whether it’s your calm confidence, exuberant warmth, or charming wit— through the photographs we make together.
Who is Ziggy Pop?
Chynna
Born and raised in sunny Southern California, Chynna has a passion for film photography and loves capturing snapshots of both her local neighborhood and travels around the world. She has a background in management, is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and can work well on the fly and under pressure. Chynna is the resident stylist, hype babe, and DJ for Ziggy Pop. She has the remarkable talent of quickly putting clients at ease, making for some seriously fantastic photos. Chynna enjoys seeing live music and hosting community events when a camera isn't in her hand.
June
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, June studied cinematography in San Francisco, CA, before relocating to Los Angeles. As a camera operator for film and television, she has had the honor of lensing up some incredible talent over the last decade. June is a complete photography nerd who has a passion for finding the best lighting and angles for each and every person that sits in front of the lens and enjoys making them feel enthusiastically seen. When she is not starting up a thousand art projects, she loves traveling and hiking all over the west coast with Veda.
Veda
Veda is our bossy gregarious shepherd mix studio manager. She absolutely loves people, getting all the snacks and pets, chasing squirrels, and laying in the middle of every room. If you are allergic or uncomfortable around dogs she’s more than happy to run very important errands elsewhere (squirrels!) while you are in our space.
