  • Getting my portraits taken with the ladies of Ziggy Pop Portraits was such a refreshing experience! After changing my career path from finance to tech, I was overdue for professional headshots, and I heard about Ziggy Pop through a friend. Beyond my day job, I was starting a journey into opera singing, and June was so accommodating. Before our shoot, June asked for reference photos (a set for tech headshots and another for opera)--and I could tell by the edits that she studied the look and feel of each space diligently. (But more on that in a bit!)

    Day of the shoot: AMAZING. June was kind enough to send me very detailed instructions on how to find parking, which I greatly appreciated, and she picked me up so we could go to her studio together. Walking in, I also got to meet the lovely Chynna and June's cuddly dog Veda--the Ziggy Pop ensemble was complete! The ambiance in the studio was super calming, and I was vibing with the music that was playing. Turns out they personalized a playlist just for me, and I felt so appreciated, cozy, and safe. We went through a series of looks, and I almost felt like I was speaking with sisters throughout the whole process. June and Chynna's warmth and down-to-earth personalities transformed the session into a cozy hangout with a camera rather than a stiff portrait sitting, especially with Veda chilling in the corner and accepting pets like the queen she is. I even asked them for makeup and hair product recommendations during the business casual portion of the shoot. (Thank you for the awesome recs!) I really appreciated the variety and creativity that went into the shoot--we got to play with different looks and backgrounds, not to mention some daylight peeking into the studio. We even got to shoot a video of me singing as well as some artsy shots with flowers that were on hand. The three hours just flew by, and June sent me off with a sprig of flowers.

    Ziggy Pop nailed the attitudes for both the tech and opera headshots. They made me look beautiful from different lights: an empowered yet approachable product manager, a regal prima donna, and an imperious Bond girl-like artist. They also made me feel beautiful during the shoot--I'm not a model, but they gave me the best environment to enjoy the experience of modeling. When it was time for me to choose my selects, it was so tough. In the end, I couldn't bear to part with some photos, so I asked them to edit a few extra photos on top of my portrait package, and the extras fee was very reasonable. The quality was so worth the price. The finals came out beautifully! June took painstaking care to keep my headshots as natural as possible while enhancing my best features. These headshots helped me put my best foot forward in my business and artistic craft, and I can't wait to work with Ziggy Pop Portraits again.
